Richard Gere wed Alejandra Silva in a private ceremony at his Pound Ridge, New York, house in 2018. No public guest list, no red carpet, and no previous notice. The restraint was typical for a man who had been one of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces for decades. The wedding was perfectly in line with Gere’s history of being both startlingly private and quite well-known.

Prior to Alejandra, Gere had two well-known marriages: his 1991–1995 union with Cindy Crawford, which garnered a lot of attention because both were at the height of their public personas at the time, and his subsequent union with actress Carey Lowell, which lasted from 2002 until a protracted and difficult divorce was finalized in 2016.
