Dmytro Makarov and the GMG Mindset: Blending Business Drive with Biohacking

The GMG Philosophy of Dmitriy Makarov: How Mindset and Balance Shape Success

Entrepreneur Dmytro Makarov has built his international marketing agency on a simple but demanding framework he calls GMG – Grind, Mastery, Growth. Based in London, Makarov is now a founder of an agency with a team of more than 100, working with household names including BMW, Intel, Durex, Nivea and Domino’s. Yet the philosophy that underpins his success is as much about personal discipline as it is about business strategy.

Makarov explains that the “grind” refers to persistence. “Grind stands for constant work on yourself, your skills, your business. From first freelance projects to running an agency, every step came from persistence,” he says. “The second principle, mastery, centres on developing deep expertise in areas such as marketing, analytics and leadership. Growth, the final element, is about progress on several fronts – financial, personal and collective.”

    A sports-inspired approach to work

Beyond GMG, Dmytro Makarov has long turned to biohacking techniques, which are often associated with athletes, to maintain his focus and energy. He stresses that an effective professional is not a “robot with a regimen,” but someone with “a smart balance between workload, recovery and personal needs.”

For him, biohacking is not about micromanaging every minute of the day, but about building supportive routines. These include device-free mornings and evenings, a diet largely free from processed sugar, and regular physical activity. The approach, he argues, provides structure while leaving room for flexibility.

“In the end, biohacking is not about controlling every second. It is about an internal ecosystem with room for rest and flexibility, but also internal discipline that keeps you focused,” he explains.

    Tools, data and perspective

Experimentation is central to Dmytro Makarov’s method. He has tested intermittent fasting in the 16:8 format and explored various supplements. However, he warns against over-reliance. “Any supplement is just a tool, not a replacement for sleep, nutrition, recovery and balanced workload,” he notes.

Technology also plays a role. Wearable devices such as Whoop allow him to monitor heart rate variability, sleep and stress levels. This, he says, enables him to adjust his workload and avoid burnout. “The device adapts its recommendations to you; it is not just stats but a personal algorithm,” he explains.

    A philosophy of persistence

The path of Dmytro Makarov from freelance beginnings to leading an international agency illustrates how determination, adaptability and self-care can combine to create lasting success. His GMG philosophy serves as a framework not only for professional achievement but also for sustainable personal development.

For the entrepreneur, the lesson is clear: success in business is not solely about strategy or financial results. It is equally about resilience, discipline and maintaining balance, an outlook that has helped transform a personal idea into a global operation.
