Internet fame can come on slowly at first, but then all of a sudden it’s impossible to ignore. Talk in the car, lift heavy things, and talk in the car again. That’s how Sam Sulek built his. It’s so simple that it almost seems like a joke. Not any fancy edits. No sponsored videos. There isn’t any carefully chosen lifestyle content. A guy going to the gym. And by 2024, more than 5 million people on Instagram and 3 million people on YouTube were watching him do that.
When you get that much attention, you can’t help but be curious about things outside of the gym. Most of all, fans want to know if Sam Sulek has a girlfriend. They also want to know what he eats and what supplements he takes.
The truth is that no one outside of his close friends and family really knows. Sulek, who was born on February 7, 2002, and is from Delaware, Ohio, has kept a very clear line between what he shares online and what he doesn’t. For someone whose whole content strategy is based on being low-fi and honest—talking directly to the camera, no script, no polish—he has kept his love life a secret. It’s important to note this difference. You can go to the gym with him. You can’t get into anything else.
Something tells me this is done on purpose. There was “defiant commitment” to a simple plan in The New York Times, and The Guardian called him the “current king” of fitness influencers, in part because he was honest. But being straightforward doesn’t mean being open. Sulek is honest about his workouts and happy to talk about his body. In April 2024, he even acknowledged steroid rumors in a dry, almost amused way by saying, “That should be pretty obvious.” He’s going to go there. He just won’t get into a relationship.

As of this writing, he hasn’t named a girlfriend in public, been photographed with her, or talked about her in any of his videos. It’s not clear that his content makes room for it. This format (car, gym, car) doesn’t allow for any personal revelations other than what he has already chosen to share. Slip-ups, background noise, and tagged Instagram moments with a partner are all gone. If someone is in his life romantically, they are not living in the content at all.
Fan groups have made guesses, as they always do. People have thrown around names and made guesses in Reddit threads and comment sections, but nothing has really stood up to close examination. Maybe he’s just paying attention. He was going to Miami University to study mechanical engineering and building one of the biggest fitness followings on the internet at the same time. Before switching to bodybuilding, he was a competitive diver. In 2025, he won his first show at the NPC Legends Classic in Las Vegas and then earned his IFBB Pro Card at the Arnold Amateur. There is a lot of schoolwork and sports to do on top of that busy schedule. It’s really not clear if there’s a relationship somewhere in that life.
What’s clear is that Sam Sulek has done something that most internet stars never quite do: he knows how much of himself to give, and he’s not letting the fans push him past that point. When the subject had to be brought up, he admitted to using steroids. He talks in great detail and with a lot of enthusiasm about his workouts. But what about the girlfriend? He has never felt the need to answer, and that quietness says something about who he is.
People who share too much can build a brand. Sulek built his by always being there and saying just the right amount. It does work. For now, the romantic side of his life stays where he put it—off camera, private, and all his own until he decides otherwise.
